With infectious diseases on the rise, senior living communities must expand on ways to keep residents, their families, and staff safe. At the same time, communities are faced with more infection control regulations from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Sodexo Seniors partnered with Senior Housing News for the webinar, “The Critical Role that Infection Control Plays in the Community," which features Brooke Hossfeld, Infection Prevention Specialist, Sodexo, U.S.; Harold Jones, ES Solution Design Director and FM Support, Sodexo Seniors, U.S.; and Juan Bracho, Director, Infection Prevention and Control, Miami Jewish Health.

The webinar addresses the challenges communities face when complying with CMS regulations, examines the benefits of a proactive approach to infection control, and highlights how an experienced partner can create a safe and healthy environment where your residents thrive.

    Here are some highlights:

    Current Challenges

    • Declining occupancy due to increased health and safety concerns from residents and their families
    • Expanded infection control survey processes from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)
    • Increased infection control regulations and penalties
    • Staffing issues that strain employees and budgets
