Plant-based Possibilities
It’s long been thought that when it comes to eating, we either choose to indulge or deprive ourselves. Increasingly, though, we can choose wisely and deliciously.
Take the Impossible Burger. The meat-alternative is popular with vegans, vegetarians, pescatarians, carnivores and everyone in between.
Why? Because it’s a good choice for personal health and the environment … and it tastes really good. When Sodexo partnered with Impossible Burger earlier this year to offer it at 1500 locations, chefs reported that taste-testers cleaned their plates.
Meanwhile, we recently invited guests to try 200 new plant-based recipes developed in partnership with the Humane Society and World Resources Institute Better Buying Lab and heard comments like, “full of flavor” and “delicious!” (see a video below).
“The most exciting aspect (of the plant-based partnership) is that our customers get to experience new foods with new flavors along with creative adaptations of their existing favorites,” said Ted Monk, Sodexo’s vice president of sustainability & corporate responsibility.
In other words, meals can taste good to the taste buds and be good for the body and planet all at the same time. Want to try for yourself: here's our chef’s tandoori cauliflower tostadas recipe.
