YAKIMA, Wash. (February 25, 2021) – The City of Yakima and Yakima Valley Convention Center have announced a multi-year extension with Centerplate, the leading hospitality partner to North America's premier convention centers and meetings venues.

Centerplate offers a multi-dimensional menu experience that includes many fresh, local ingredients sourced from suppliers throughout the Pacific Northwest. Executive Chef Michael Zuniga will continue to hand-pick the dishes and curate the wines that are prominently featured on the menu, including many from the acclaimed Yakima Valley wineries.

"Over the last few years, we have made a substantial investment to transform the convention center into a more modern, guest-centric destination," said Connie Upton, General Manager, Yakima Convention Center. "As we continue to attract conferences, meetings and events from around the Northwest we are pleased to continue working with Centerplate as our exclusive hospitality, food and beverage service provider.”

With over 87,000 square feet of meeting and pre-function space, and 6,000+ square feet of an outdoor plaza, the venue is the perfect place to gather and enjoy the Yakima Valley's 300 days of sunshine.

"We are happy to carry on our partnership with the Yakima Convention Center," added Greg Fender, Executive Vice President, Centerplate. "We will continue to source locally as much as possible, though our focus is on more than just the food, as we provide a level of hospitality that inspires and connects with the guests who come to spend time with us."
