Overview

Sodexo Energy & Resources has an extensive presence in the Gulf, operating a diverse portfolio of over a dozen offshore energy client sites. Our enduring client partnerships, spanning a combined total of 60 years, are a testament to the trust our offshore energy clients have placed in us. At Sodexo, we remain steadfast in our commitment to surpassing their expectations and consistently enhancing their experience.

With our dedicated services, Sodexo Energy and Resources proudly delivers more than 1.5 million meals annually to offshore energy clients in the Gulf of Mexico. We understand that our clients' workforces operate under challenging conditions, requiring unwavering stamina, wholesome nutrition, and peak performance. That's why we prioritize providing the nourishment and sustenance necessary for their demanding tasks.

Fueling Employee Performance

Physical and mental well-being is especially important for workforces in harsh, laborious and dangerous conditions. Without proper nutrition, oil refinery and offshore wind farm workers could face health issues and psychological distress, not to mention a lack of focus and difficulties with performance.

At the same time, the oil and gas industry is facing hiring challenges as talent shortages continue. Offshore operations are competing with tech companies and other industries that often offer a wealth of wellness benefits for employees, drawing in younger generations

At Sodexo, we recognize the immense value and contributions of those working within offshore environments. We are constantly exploring how we can nurture a culture of health and wellness that makes worker safety a top priority.

Offshore workers share many of the physical demands athletes have, from an increased risk of injury to a consistent need for high performance. A crucial aspect of any athlete's training program is proper nutrition.

Solution

Sodexo's Performance Plate is inspired by our NCAA Division I athlete nutrition program, which focuses on simple, healthy ingredients that make up balanced plates. Performance Plate menus are built by certified Sodexo nutritionists and encourage healthy choices, especially in environments where high-quality alternatives are few and far between. So we've launched the Performance Plate, which focuses on the nutrition, health and performance of each worker.

Our Performance Plate selections are easy to source, and highlight the importance of high-quality ingredients for our clients. With more than 26,500 recipes in our proprietary menu management system, we can bring to life the food our clients need to help their workforces thrive.

A huge thank YOU all for implementing this and the partnership on nutrition and performance, I LOVE it! It is amazing to see this program come to reality, not only does it allow us to better partner, but provide a step change in the area of worker health and wellbeing that is aligned with our goals!
Offshore Client Delivering Benefits

The Performance Plate program has been adopted by our largest client in the Gulf of Mexico. Nearly 1,000 pounds of ingredients make up our Performance Plates every week. These plates equate to about a third of the daily menu for our client sites.

Some of the program recipes include Tuscan kale and bean soup, jerk chicken thighs, grilled mahi mahi, and roasted poblano corn chowder.

The addition of the Performance Plate is a game-changer. I am health-conscious person who likes to work out and watch my diet. This is a balanced meal for anyone who wants to change their habits and become healthy.
