SUNY Plattsburgh and Sodexo highlight new dining enhancements across campus
NORTH BETHESDA, Md. (Oct. 20, 2026) — Sodexo and SUNY Plattsburgh College Auxiliary Services are highlighting new dining enhancements designed to make campus dining more convenient, sustainable and responsive to student needs. The updates include a renovation in Hawkins Hall for a new Saxbys Coffee Café, the addition of mobile ordering through Grubhub and a reusable container program to help reduce single-use waste.
These enhancements build on the launch of Cardinal Way Culinary and Co., SUNY Plattsburgh’s campus dining program led by Sodexo, which began serving the university in spring 2026. Since then, the program has introduced refreshed menus and dining concepts, expanded better-for-you and allergen-friendly options, updated catering menus with more affordable choices and reimagined dining spaces as places for students to gather, recharge and connect.
“Dining is an important part of the student experience, and we are focused on making it easier, more inviting and more responsive to what students want from their time on campus,” said Ellen Wilson, president and COO, Sodexo Campus. “These enhancements reflect our continued investment in SUNY Plattsburgh and our commitment to delivering a dining program that evolves with the campus community.”
College Auxiliary Services selected Sodexo as its dining partner following a competitive bidding process informed by campus stakeholders and the CAS Board of Directors. Sodexo was chosen for its focus on high-quality, diverse dining options, food security, fair and consistent pricing, strong customer service and a partnership approach centered on supporting all students.
“These updates represent the kind of progress we envisioned for campus dining: more choice, more convenience and a stronger connection to the way our students live and learn,” said Catherine Keleher, executive director of College Auxiliary Services at SUNY Plattsburgh. “We’re excited for students to experience the continued improvements across Cardinal Way Culinary and Co., from the refreshed Saxbys location to mobile ordering and new sustainability efforts that enhance convenience, flexibility and everyday campus life.”
“At SUNY Plattsburgh, we are committed to creating learning environments that extend beyond the classroom and prepare our students for career success in an increasingly dynamic workforce,” said SUNY Plattsburgh President Dr. Alexander Enyedi. “Our partnership with Sodexo and the introduction of Saxbys Café to the campus reflects that commitment by combining an enhanced campus dining experience with meaningful experiential learning opportunities. Through this innovative model, students won’t simply work in a café; they will develop leadership, business and professional skills while earning academic credit and financial compensation. This is the kind of transformational experience that defines a SUNY Plattsburgh education.”
