A New Summit: Centerplate and Boston Gourmet Selected as New Hospitality Partner for Bousquet Mountain

Multi-year deal encompasses hospitality services as popular ski resort looks to usher in the next chapter of the historic Berkshires mountain

PITTSFIELD, Mass. (September 16, 2021) – Bousquet Mountain today announced the selection of culinary industry leader centerplate – a leading partner to many top ski resorts and leisure destinations in North America – and Boston Gourmet, a joint venture between Centerplate and Gourmet Caterers. The agreement is for all food and beverage services year-round at the family-friendly Berkshires resort, located in southwest Pittsfield on the northern slope of Lenox Mountain and Yokun Seat.
The deal comes amid a large-scale investment being made by the owners of Bousquet Mountain, Mill Town capital, to enhance the base experience with a new lodge with modernized dining options that feed the crowds of excited families, winter sports enthusiasts and more. A long-time fixture of the local community, Bousquet – which has operated since the mid 1930s – offers a hands-on, intimate experience for all guests.
“We welcome Centerplate and Boston Gourmet to help us scale our overall hospitality business as we make Bousquet a future-proof, year-round venue that can also host skiing and non-skiing events and functions of all sizes,” said Dennis Robinson, President and COO of Bousquet Enterprises. “Their team will play an important collaborative role as we seek to better ensure operational excellence and incorporate local brands that capture the best of the Berkshires.”

Whether visiting for the first time or a long-time Bousquet devotee, guests will be assured a fresh, delicious, enjoyable après ski experience in a memorable setting. The new base area lodge is slated for completion by the start of the 21/22 ski season, and has utilized archival photos as a nostalgic nod to the old lodge for the new design. Other recent changes to the mountain include a new triple chair lift and new snowmaking upgrades for some of the best snow conditions in New England.
Centerplate, a Sodexo company, has begun conversations with many local favorites as it seeks to act with Boston Gourmet as a catalyst for the local economy. The company will seek to provide many jobs for local residents and employs the most rigorous safety standards for employees and guests alike.
“We are hitting the ground running, as we seek to fully integrate ourselves into the local Bousquet community with an ambitious, visionary partner,” said Steve Pangburn, Centerplate’s Chief Executive Officer. “We are already leveraging our strong local leadership at nearby Tanglewood, as we seek to curate a unique dining experience for those who come join us from all around the New England area and beyond.”
