Sodexo Live! Hires Chef Michael Wurster to Oversee Culinary Offerings for Airport Lounges
GAITHERSBURG, Md. (December 9, 2021) – Sodexo Live! – a global leader in hospitality, events and airport lounge services – today announced the addition of Chef Michael Wurster to its renowned culinary team. In this role, the creative, detail-oriented chef will be tasked with crafting enticing offerings that cater to the varied eating habits and dietary needs of today’s travelers. He will work closely with the entire Sodexo Live! global culinary team to establish new standards of excellence.
Most recently, Chef Wurster served as the Culinary Director for Restaurant Associates at Google, where he developed the overall culinary vision and strategy for the tech giant’s global workplace dining program in The Americas. The New York native, a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, also has a pedigree with some of the industry’s most prestigious institutions, including The London, Le Cirque, The French Laundry, Alain Ducasse, Lutèce and Eleven Madison Park. While Executive Chef at ICON at W New York – The Court, Chef Wurster also contributed to the creation of best-in-class menus for W Hotels Worldwide.
Further, Chef Wurster is a leader in the sustainable seafood movement, serving on the board for New York State’s Dock to Dish program, which provides New Yorkers with membership access to state-certified wild seafood directly from the Montauk fishing fleet, and is a supporting member of GreenWave, which replicates and scales regenerative ocean farms to create jobs and protect the planet.
With over 20 years of experience in airport lounge management and serving 30 million travelers every year, Sodexo Live! has its finger on the pulse of the grab & go options, a la carte, or table service that delights guests when they take to the skies.
