Hitting it Out of the Park: Sodexo Live! Strikes Multi-Year Renewal with Seattle Mariners at T-Mobile Park
The #1 dining experience in baseball is poised to double down on fan-friendly favorites and the addition of iconic local partners to the menus
SEATTLE, Wash. (February 8, 2022) – Sodexo Live!, the hospitality partner to many of the world’s most iconic venues, today announced the renewal of its long-term agreement with the Seattle Mariners at T-Mobile Park. Sodexo Live! will continue to provide dining services for all events at the venue, including Mariners home games, top-tier concert performances and an array of other functions and events.
Since 1999, T-Mobile Park has gained a reputation locally, regionally and nationally as a terrific setting for baseball and a great place for baseball fans. The host for Major League Baseball’s 2023 All-Star Week festivities, the park regularly appears at the top of the rankings for best gameday and dining experience, a testament to the Sodexo Live! culinary team that has made the venue a catalyst for the “foodie-focused” revolution of so many other baseball stadiums. The hottest gameday spot isn't in Belltown or Ballard; rather, it's The T-Mobile 'Pen, right next to the Mariners bullpen in center field. Gates open 2 hours before first pitch for fans to enjoy tasty food choices and happy hour specials all season long.
Sweeping views of Seattle's downtown skyline and breath-taking sunsets over the Puget Sound, combined with excellent views of game action from all angles, give fans at T-Mobile Park an experience unequalled in Major League Baseball.
Menu options include:
- Ballpark favorites like hot dogs and pizza as well as limited selections at Seattle seafood institution Ivar's and The Natural, which features gluten-friendly, vegetarian, vegan and plant-based menu items.
- The craft beer line-up is one of the most heralded in all of professional sports, including such local favorites as Reuben’s Brews, Georgetown Brewing and Métier Brewing.
- All concourse POS stands are cashless, including such renowned locations as Edgar’s Cantina, the Hit It Here Café and the T-Mobile ‘Pen.
Sodexo Live! has been our partner since we opened the venue, stated Malcolm Rogel, Vice President of Fan Experience for the Seattle Mariners. It’s a true partnership. They are always at the table with us when we make decisions about the food and beverage experience. They bring to us a consistent approach and partnership. We know what to expect and the level of excellence they provide.
With nearly 1,000 employees who work annually at T-Mobile Park, Sodexo Live! is happy to be a regular source of jobs for local residents and a catalyst for the local economy. Its culinary team continually pushes the envelope with creative new menu items that delight fans in both the general concourses and premium dining spaces. The high-quality food offerings also benefit greatly from a long-term partnership with renowned local restaurateur Ethan Stowell, which helped usher in the concept of elevated ballpark food.
This exciting news is a testament to our close collaboration with the Mariners ownership and the local partnerships we have forged in the Seattle market, like that with Ethan Stowell said Steve Pangburn, CEO, Sodexo Live! For us, there is no offseason. By providing excellent guest service, actively sourcing from local community purveyors and investing in the consistent modernization of the venue, we are fully committed to bettering the fan experience for Seattle fans and all those who come from elsewhere to visit the Pacific Northwest.
Since T-Mobile Park first opened its gates, it has annually injected millions of dollars into the local economy and helped launch a renaissance overall in what it means to provide incredible ballpark fare. The Mariners have twice received the Green Glove Award (2017 and 2020) for the highest recycling rate in MLB, when T-Mobile Park recycled 96% and 98% (respectively) of all waste generated during those seasons. Since 2010, the first year the Mariners were recognized by MLB for sustainability practices, the Mariners recycling rate at T-Mobile Park has averaged 85%, one of the highest marks in all of professional sports.
The new menus for the 2022 Seattle Mariners season will be revealed in March.
