MIAMI BEACH, Fla (October 8, 2021) – The City of Miami Beach has approved an expansion of its agreement with Sodexo Live! to become the exclusive hospitality provider for the historic Carl Fisher Clubhouse. Sodexo Live!’s catering provider, Centerplate, has managed the food and beverage services for the adjacent Miami Beach Convention Center since 2007 and is firmly embedded in the local culinary culture.

Located in Collins Canal Park and the Miami Beach Convention Center Campus, Carl Fisher Clubhouse offers an exclusive view of Miami Beach’s scenic wonders. Originally built in 1916, the Carl Fisher Clubhouse is the oldest public structure in Miami Beach. The City of Miami Beach approved a multi-million-dollar restoration to modernize the multipurpose space, while preserving its historic charm.

The restoration of the iconic Carl Fisher Clubhouse has been an integral part of our newly reimagined Convention Center campus, which also now features stunning art and greenspaces, said Mayor Dan Gelber. Having Sodexo Live! and Centerplate providing the hospitality and catering for the Clubhouse ensures it has the best-in-class service that our residents and visitors expect and deserve – we’re proud to have them as partners.

The Carl Fisher Clubhouse, which includes two venues, will be transformed into two unique hospitality spaces:

  • The Rum Room is a casual 2,200 square-foot space offering an array of delicious culinary menus.

  • The Venu, is a 3,300 square-foot event space perfect for intimate gatherings, including, but not limited to wedding receptions, corporate functions and much more.

The Rum Room and Venu will uphold the rich history of the Carl Fisher Clubhouse by providing fresh and local flavors representing South Florida cuisine, while also embodying the 1920s setting. Executive Chef Ismael Lasalle has designed a unique culinary lineup that captures the taste of South Beach. The culinary team will collaborate with local chefs and restaurant partners to deliver a series of programming and special events that will attract and entertain the community.

The Rum Room and Venu are expected to open in the winter of 2021.
