Exclusive Club Experience Brings 145% Increase in Per Cap Sales

The Parlor Club

At Sodexo Live!, providing guests with best-in-class service means creating an atmosphere that makes every experience unique. Our in-depth knowledge of consumer behavior and expectations led to the creation of The Parlor Club at The Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center, a premium club experience like no other in the area.

"People have so much entertainment at their fingertips competing for their time and attention," said Todd Tinney, Sodexo Live! General Manager for the Coliseum. "We knew we had to take things to the next level." Tinney and Coliseum management saw an opportunity to elevate the guest experience by transforming underutilized meeting rooms in their lower concourse into a welcoming VIP space offering first-class hospitality. Dubbed "The Parlor Club," the unique add-on experience debuted in November 2021. The Club features unique concert-themed décor including an album cover art wall, canvas prints of artists that have played at the facility, colorful stage lighting, and more all just steps away from the Coliseum main floor.

Fans who purchase access to The Parlor Club along with their show ticket are treated to complimentary hors d'oeuvres and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as access to the full-service Parlor Club Bar. With capacity for up to 180 guests, the Club is open two hours before shows, during shows, and for an hour after the performance ends to allow guests to take full advantage of the premium benefits. In addition to food and beverage, guests have private restrooms, a dedicated Coliseum entrance, and reserved parking.

The response has been beyond expectations. Average per cap sales in The Parlor Club are 145% higher than sales for standard ticket holders in the Coliseum's concession area. "We've seen large companies based in the area buying 20 tickets a show for The Parlor Club to offer to their clients. It's a great experience for their guests, and they want the seats," said Tinney. "We've hosted Christmas parties there, and our convention guests have used it as a hospitality room. The Club is in demand even when concerts are not happening because it's such an interesting space."
