From Retail Supervisor to Regional Safety Leader: Tina Livezey’s Sodexo Journey

Today, Tina serves as a Retail Manager and Regional Safety Coordinator at the Lehigh Valley Health Network Center for Healthcare Education in Center Valley, PA. In her role, she oversees retail operations while helping teams across her network strengthen workplace safety, prepare for audits, and build a culture of continuous improvement.
A Career Built on Growth and Opportunity
Tina’s Sodexo journey began in 2006 when she joined the company as a Retail Supervisor in the university segment.
She quickly discovered that Sodexo offered more than just a job, it offered opportunities to learn, develop new skills, and build a meaningful career. After three and a half years in retail leadership, she advanced to a Dining Room Senior Supervisor position, continuing to expand her operational knowledge and leadership skills.
As Tina’s passion for safety became clear, her leadership team recognized her strengths and created a Safety Steward role specifically for her. In that position, she oversaw safety initiatives across five units, conducting audits, leading training sessions, teaching ServSafe classes, and helping teams build safer workplaces.
Over the next several years, Tina continued expanding her expertise while making a lasting impact on the people and teams she supported.
After years in the role, Tina was ready for the next challenge. Today, as Regional Safety Coordinator, she partners with operators and managers across her network to help teams prepare for audits, strengthen safety practices, and maintain strong operational standards year-round. She conducts site visits, reviews training and procedures, and shares resources and guidance with leaders across her network.
For Tina, workplace safety is about much more than compliance. She shares that, “Workplace safety needs to be something that we do, not because it is required or because someone is looking. It can be a matter of life or death.”
Finding Growth Through Mentorship and Development
One of the things Tina values most about working at Sodexo is the commitment to helping employees develop both personally and professionally.
Since transitioning into the healthcare segment, she has taken advantage of numerous learning opportunities, including General Manager training and other professional development programs that have helped her continue growing as a leader.
She also credits mentorship as one of the most important factors in her success.
“The mentorship is priceless,” Tina says. “Seeking out multiple mentors was the best career move and personal move that I have made.”
Those relationships provided guidance, encouragement, and perspective throughout her career and ultimately helped her recognize opportunities she may not have pursued on her own.
Tina also utilized Sodexo’s tuition reimbursement program while earning her master’s degree, allowing her to continue investing in her education while advancing her career.
“I am recognized for my strengths and talents,” Tina shares. “I am also given the opportunity to improve in areas where I may be lacking.”
Every Day Brings Something Different
As both a Retail Manager and Regional Safety Coordinator, no two days look exactly the same for Tina. Some days are focused on supporting her onsite team and ensuring smooth retail operations. Other days involve traveling to locations throughout her network, helping managers prepare for audits, conducting safety reviews, or sharing best practices that help teams succeed.
It’s that variety and the people that continue to make her work rewarding after nearly two decades with Sodexo.
“Every day is different,” she says. “I enjoy interacting with different people every day while getting to know the regulars.”
