Follow Your Passion and Make a Difference!
As a Senior Recruiter with Sodexo for over 17 years, I have worked with countless company leaders to identify and hire top talent to join our company.
Over this course of time, I’ve been drawn to some common themes across Sodexo’s culture, including professional growth and development, encouragement to pursue individual passions and the importance of making a difference in the lives of people in the communities we serve.

Six years ago, I was looking for a new way to make an impact and decided to join HONOR, a Sodexo Employee Business Resource Group (EBRG). HONOR stands for Honoring Our Nation’s Finest with Opportunity and Respect and supports our military employees, the community, veterans, and military spouses. As someone with family members who have served in different branches of the military and as a military spouse, I have a deep respect for the sacrifices of those who serve.
In HONOR, I have served as the communications chair and co-chair for my local chapters in California and Arizona. For four years, our primary initiative was to support at-risk veterans and bring jobs to the homeless through an organization called Operation Stand Down, which provides much needed support to underserved veterans. We helped provide nutritious, hot meals for up to 2,000 veterans at each event and assisted many unemployed veterans with their job applications to obtain employment within their community at Sodexo.
I am pleased to share that many of our regional HONOR chapters are also supporting their local Stand Downs and have provided encouragement, employment, and recognition for thousands of our country’s heroes! I feel honored and privileged to have been a part of this life altering event for so many veterans.

In addition to supporting HONOR, I’m also a member of our Talent Acquisition Military Recruitment Team. Our team develops recruitment goals and deploys training aimed at bringing more talent from the military community into Sodexo.
Some of these goals include establishing partnerships with organizations like SkillBridge, an internship program designed to help transitioning military members develop their skills in a civilian environment; or working with Candorful, a not-for-profit organization that connects military, veterans, and spouses with volunteers to hone their interview skills in preparation for interviews.
Our team has also developed a webinar series for veterans, active military, and spouses to help improve their job search. Earlier this year, our team presented resume tips and tricks. We will be returning with another free virtual event on November 2, 2021 from 2:30-3:20 p.m. CT designed to help you ace your next interview.
If you’re looking for a company that will encourage you to follow your passion, smash goals that you set, and support you as you grow, Sodexo could be the right fit for you. To put it simply, I love my job!
As we approach Veteran’s Day, I encourage you to find a way to acknowledge our nation’s true HEROES, and please thank a veteran! Plus, don’t forget to save your seat for our next virtual event!
Not a part of the military community? Send this post to a friend, family member or colleague that you think would be interested in attending our event.
