Is Your Resume Reviewed by a Bot? Not at Sodexo!

When you apply for a job, you are taking the first step in building a relationship with a company. And, you likely have a set of expectations about what will happen next.

At Sodexo, our hiring process begins with one of our recruiters reviewing your resume. Some companies use technology to look for key words on your resume and make an initial decision about your qualifications. We believe, however, that when a recruiter personally reads your resume, he or she can learn a lot more about your potential match for a job.

Don’t get me wrong. Key words on your resume are still incredibly important. These are words that align with the responsibilities listed in the job descriptions. They act like signposts for the recruiter who is looking for specific skillsets that will be a good fit for each role. But we also believe a great candidate experience begins with keeping the “human” in our processes.

Being human means that we also place a high importance on communication with our candidates. Once your resume has been reviewed, you will receive an email from us letting you know if we want to schedule a phone screen. Unfortunately, if you’re not one of the best potential matches for the job, you’ll receive a notification thanking you for your interest instead.

As you move from phone screen to interview, you’ll continue to hear from us about your progress. Afterall, great relationships are built on open communication! Another option is to log onto your profile in the Sodexo Career Center to check for updates.
