The Inspiration Behind The Magic

Our success is a direct result of the commitment and leadership SodexoMAGIC team members display every day.  When you hear their stories, it’s not surprising that their journeys have led them here. One such example is Gerry Garvin (aka G. Garvin), SodexoMAGIC Chief Culinary Advisor.


Chef Garvin is dedicated to advancing his craft in the kitchen while serving as an inspiration to others. An accomplished chef, author, entrepreneur, television host and philanthropist, he was the youngest cook at the downtown Ritz-Carlton, before moving to the West Coast in 1988 to open Ritz-Carlton’s Rancho Mirageresort in Palm Springs. At just 20, G.Garvin moved to Europe to further his culinary training but later revisited the West Coast, building his reputation as an executive chef earning stellar reviews. 


A supporter of the Jenesse Center (the oldest domestic violence intervention center in LA) and Second Harvest, he is working on his culinary boot camp for kids ages 16 to 19 through the G. Garvin Foundation.Today, he leads our community of chefs – using food to inspire, and delivering great recipes that present healthier choices for our clients and customers.
