September 12, 2019

Expanded offerings will provide greater options for House Visitors and Staff

Gaithersburg, MD, September 12, 2019 – The Chief Administrative Officer of the House and Sodexo, the food service provider for the House of Representatives, partnered to add two new food options, Steak ‘n Shake and Jamba Juice, to the roster of House food services.

Steak ‘n Shake is home of the Original SteakburgerTM and the restaurant industry’s longest established brand in the premium burger and milkshake segment. Located adjacent to the Rayburn Cafeteria, this is the first Steak ‘n Shake restaurant in Washington, D.C. Jamba Juice is situated in the Longworth Building directly across from the Longworth Cafeteria.

“The United States Capitol and the three House Office Buildings receive millions of visitors every year,” said Chief Administrative Officer Phil Kiko. “The ability to offer new dining options for visitors, as well as the thousands of staff and employees who work in the various member and committee offices, allows us to be more responsive to changing needs will still providing good food at reasonable prices.”

Within the past four years, House dining options have grown to include Dunkin Donuts, Subway, &Pizza and Au Bon Pain. In addition to existing cafeteria services, the expansion in branded food options allows visitors to enjoy some of the same options they have in their local communities.

"We are excited to add Steak ‘n Shake and Jamba Juice to the dining destinations available to the hard-working staff and visitors we are honored to serve at the House Office Buildings,” said Brett Ladd, CEO Government, North America, Sodexo.
