Centerplate, Colorado Convention Center Agree to Extend Hospitality Agreement

July 25, 2019

DENVER, Colo. & STAMFORD, Conn. (July 25, 2019) Centerplate, the leading hospitality partner to North America’s premier entertainment venues and convention centers, today announced it has extended its hospitality contract to continue serving as the exclusive caterer for the Colorado Convention Center and Denver Performing Arts Complex. Centerplate has served the venue for over 30 years, creating the popular onsite Blue Bear Farm and keeping its finger on the pulse of local food trends in and around the greater Denver area. The Colorado Convention Center has been recognized among the world’s top venues for meetings and events, garnering mention in Convene Magazine, the leading publication for the meeting planning industry, as well as regional acclaim.

“We are happy to continue working with Centerplate as our exclusive hospitality partner to maintain a best-in-class locally-inspired menu that will have guests wanting to come back again and again,” said Ginger White Brunetti, Executive Director, Denver Arts & Venues.

Knowing the eco-friendly nature of Denver, Centerplate in 2011 worked with Convention Center leaders and city officials, as well as local business and non-profit partners, to bring the vision of Blue Bear Farm to life. With over 5,000 square feet of growing space, the Blue Bear Farm yields a bumper crop for Centerplate chefs of farm-fresh fruits, vegetables, herbs, and beehives. The bucolic Blue Bear Farm scene is not something normally found in the middle of one of America’s largest cities; but this oasis was created by Centerplate and local partners at the gateway to the Colorado Convention Center as part of an integrated effort to bring community, local sourcing, and sustainability to life for the city and its visitors.

“We are proud of our Denver-based team, our city, and the talented members of our professional culinary and service staff, and we are excited to continue as the exclusive hospitality provider at the Colorado Convention Center and Denver Performing Arts Complex," added Steve Pangburn, Interim Chief Executive Officer, Centerplate. "We will continue to source locally – especially onsite at the famous Blue Bear Farm – to best support the community and delight our guests.”

As the exclusive caterer for the Colorado Convention Center and the preferred caterer for the Denver Performing Arts Complex, Centerplate maintains a highly trained and award-winning culinary team that offers locally-inspired cuisine artfully blended with innovative presentation and style. From a lavish reception for 10,000 to an elegant gala in the Grand Ballroom, or an all-day executive workshop in the spacious meeting rooms, Centerplate tailors programs that always fit the unique needs of any event.
